Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran: An entrepreneur’s story of learning how to fail

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept my faith” – II Timothy 4:7

Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran is a self-made New York City real estate magnate whose story is down to earth and close to the heart. Corcoran comes from a small town in NJ, who while waiting tables in her 20’s was spotted by a gentleman and recruited to become a real estate broker. Soon, Corcoran and her-now boyfriend had their own business…  until a few years later, when he dumped her for the office secretary.

On her way out of the office, he said “You’ll never be successful without me.” Corcoran cites those parting words as the fuel that kept her going when she wanted to quit countless times on her journey as an entrepreneur throughout the years. Often with no money, fighting depression and overwhelming odds – Corcoran’s never-quit attitude lasted a decade before her success shined through. In the video above, she tells all this and more with her adoring charisma. A realistic tale of constant failure and recovery, ultimately ending in her being a Shark on the hit NBC series and controlling 9 figures worth of real estate.
